a productive manila trip
just came back from a whirlwind of a trip!
john and i tried to squeeze in as much wedding planning as we could in the little time we had in manila.
march 1 - meeting with invitations supplier, manila polo club & blue leaf pavilion site inspection (ocular, as they say), meeting with erika our wedding coordinator, checked out santuario de san antonio (our church), meeting with a florist/stylist
march 2 - meeting with 2nd florist/stylist
march 4 - taste test of giveaways
march 5- taste test with caterer
march 6 - marriage prep course (pre-cana, as they call it)
We have booked the following suppliers
VENUE - Blue Leaf Pavilion, Banyan Room - i loved how spacious it is and liked that there is a little suite for the bride and groom to hang out it in just before the reception.
INVITATIONS - Printsonalities (as recommended by Erika) - i saw their samples in person and loved what they can do. our invitations cost P140 a set, which is really awesome. the first company we looked at was charging us P220 a set! (a set includes: main envelope with blind emboss, colored and patterned lining, main invitation, entourage list, info card, RSVP envelope and RSVP card)
FLORIST/STYLIST - Patricia Pastelero of Spruce Floral Designs - i fell in love with her work and knew that she was the one when i found out that her inspiration is saipua florals from NY. her work is consistent and very tasteful.
CATERER - Bizu - we met with Kaye to do the taste test (including john’s other brothers! good times!) and everything was really good. my favorite was the roast beef, mashed potatoes and the vanilla creme in egg shell (to die for!). Kaye gave us free cocktails and a free desert buffet upgrade!
the only suppliers that we need are:
DJ
Lighting
Sounds
other important things that need to get done:
guest list (arrrrgh - i have a feeling this is going to be tough)
entourage list (very political, i tell you!)
bridesmaids dresses
i really hope to be done planning before fall.
entourage in white. love it.
and then wine-color nail polish on blunt nails.
i do not want french manicure.
